- You look so young!
It isn’t really the compliment you think it is. To a woman. Men already get to hear they are like fine wine and look distinguished. But women should also be allowed to look their age.
News Flash: Those photos are manipulated! But you already knew that? Didn’t you? Or did you? It’s difficult to not think: Wow, that’s a beautiful woman, she’s got perfect skin. I mean, you know intellectually that those women doesn’t really look like that. But that doesn’t change the emotion, does it?
Historically and culturally there are worse places to be than in the west right now for women. You don’t have to tie up your feet, wear tight corsets or hide your bodies in shame. But we certainly have our shortcomings as well. The beauty industry is huge. Women spend a lot of money on plastic surgery, boob jobs and make-up. I don’t think we in the west are any better at looking at ourselves, from the outside, than any other culture. You can tattoo make-up to your face! WHAT THE F**K! That is so sick.
Educate yourself and your children. Feminist isn’t a swear word. Everyone should be one. Feminism is about human rights. It is about your right to be yourself. And not have to hide yourself. Live and be free. Peace, out.
